9th June, with active support of Nevsky Forum hotel (Valka Hotels Group managing company) took place the meeting of college of central district administration with the topic: “Conditions and perspectives of development of hotel infrastructure in the district area”.
Before the official part of the event college members visited several small hotels of St. Petersburg. After that all the guests moved to Nevskiy Forum Hotel where the meeting took place. During the meeting hotel management and central district administration members discussed the list of problems concerning small hotel business. It turned out that the most part of the questions discussed during the meeting remained unsolved for the long period of time. Therefore it is important to have a law that will settle activities of small hotel business. All participants agreed that the lack of the law was the main problem at that moment. Dunaeva Marina Dmitrievna (Vice-chairman, Committee of investment and strategy projects) assured that the law would be passed in three month. Rechits Elena Valerievna (Director of Marketing, «German club» hotel) mentioned: «Legislative basis by itself won’t solve such problems as the lack of lawyers in the most part of small hotels, disparity, problems with the fire safety in the buildings, low level of service. Therefore it’s necessary to create consultancy centers for hotel professionals, to organize special resource for teaching and hiring the staff, to have a good cooperation between administration and small hotels in order to promote hotels abroad». In one’s turn administration members confirmed that they were working with that problems and all desires would be taken into consideration.
