Russian Museum
Russian Museum was founded in 1895 by decree of Nicolas II and opened in the Mikhailovsky Palace on March, 1898.
Russian Museum is Russia’s first state museum of national fine arts. With its collection comprising around 400,000 pieces, the Russian Museum is now the world’s largest depository of works by Russian artist.
Russian museum now - it is the unique promptuary of artist objects, the center of restoration, the established institute for scientific research, one of major centers of cultural and enlightenment, the center of cultural and enlightenment work.
